Integration, Validation & Verification Engineer Interlocking System (M/F)

MISSION

Purpose of the job:

Within the framework of our D&IS activity (*), in the innovative project to modernize an Interlocking you will be in charge of System integration, validation & verification activities within a validation team (activities involving real equipment).

Alstom Interlocking solution relay safety commands and controls between supervisors, trains and wayside equipment, in main lines areas. Today this project only concerns the French geographical area. It combines mastery of the signalling métier and an approach to modern technologies such as cybersecurity, intelligent wayside objects, etc. It requires decisive sub-system involvement.

Organizational / Reporting

  • Hierarchical report to V&V Domain Manager
  • Functional report to V&V Leader
  • Responsibilities and Accountabilities

    For one campaign, in a SIL4 context, in an on-shore validation team (Saint-Ouen), you will be in charge of:

  • Analyze Functional specification, verify coherency & traceability
  • Perform impact analysis & determine set of tests to create / replay as non-regression
  • Define tests cases & write test procedures ensuring optimal coverage of functional requirement.
  • Configure Tests Bench (Hw equipment & simulator)
  • Develop test scripts, implement & execute tests, analyze results & record defects, investigate on critical problems
  • Put validation work products under configuration management 
  • Write Validation report
  • Contribute to External assessment phase & audit
  • Contribute to workload estimation
  • Provide data to maintain KPIs defined at program/project level and by applicable processes.
  • Provide valuable feedback for REX Sessions and continuous improvement.
  • In this role you will be in interface:

  • with our validation off-shore team (Bangalore) and other on-shore team members (Saint-Ouen) – team work on current activity
  • with the V&V leader for activity scope & planning
  • with other “métier” (technical, process, QCD topics) Sub-System & Software designers Verification & Safety Engineer Program & System manager
  • Performance Measurement

  • Test session executed on time, in line with deadlines & productivity objectives defined by the V&V leader
  • Ensures requirements traceability versus test, no coverage issue
  • Quality of technical analyses & documentation
  • Initiatives & suggestions to improve Test mean, process & methodology
  • Compliance with applicable processes & standard (no deviation)
  • PROFILE:

    Technical Knowledge / Experience

  • Graduate in Engineering (Electric, Electronic, Computer science or equivalent)
  • 2 to 4 years experience in validation activities, preferably on industrial products having reliability or safety constraints. Previous experience in testing activity on target is mandatory
  • Experience in Railways/Signaling domain, such as Interlocking system is an asset
  • Technical skills

  • Synthesis capacity

  • English fluent (written & spoken)
  • Sound knowledge on industrial networks (Ethernet, TCP/IP), Cybersecurity basics
  • Validation activities : requirement management, impact analysis, non-regression principles, test coverage, test execution, test automation, configuration management, change requests …
  • Integration activities : Hw equipement integration & configuration, protocol testing & investigation on exchanged messages (with tool such as Wireshark)
