Varnish & Paint Engineer

The Bobigny site, headquarters and Research and Innovation Center of the Visibility Systems Pole (VIS), develops high-performance and innovative lighting systems that accompany the driver and passengers in all weather conditions, day and night, and during their various activities aboard the vehicle.

We are looking for a Paint & Varnish Lines Engineer:

Your Challenges?

  • Develop varnish and paint applications taking into account material compatibility and processes in collaboration with the materials department, suppliers, purchasing department, and process team on the sites to meet the needs of the VLS project.

  • Ensure standards compliance for varnish and paint applications (method, process, devices, machinery, technical data).

  • Provide technical support to project teams and production sites regarding all aspects of varnish and paint activities (production sites, purchasing departments, production technicians and engineers).

  • Lead a network of specialists (meetings, workshops by establishing a roadmap to evolve towards a standard owner role).

  • Capitalize on and share industrial process expertise related to varnishing and painting, among others in the VLS industrial database.

  • Participate in the development and qualification of new machines and/or suppliers. Draft standard specifications for machines and devices.

  • Conduct technological watch on equipment and best practices.

About you

  • With a Bac degree, Engineering School or equivalent Master's degree, ideally in mechanical or robotics, you have at least 2 years of experience in a similar position.

  • You have knowledge in surface treatment and a plural approach to thick coating coatings.

  • Proficiency in Solidworks and knowledge of HTML is a plus. Knowledge of the MS Office package is necessary.

  • You are a good communicator, reactive, and synthetic.

  • As the position requires regular exchanges with foreign counterparts, fluency in English is imperative. Knowledge of Spanish is a plus.

  • The position requires travel once a month in France or Europe, and 1 to 2 times a year to the USA and China.
