The Gypsum Process Innovation department/team at TIP is looking for a thermal process engineer.

Reporting to Drying Area Team Manager, your role will be Drying Process Engineer.

Describe the duties of the post:

  • Central team position with a worldwide scope
  • Reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions in the Gypsum factories
  • Deepen the understanding of key process stages, such as calcination and drying, through testing, characterization, and laboratory and production trials.
  • Design, carry out, and analyze industrial trials aimed at optimizing current processes.
  • Interface R&D and operation to push innovation (new process, new product)
  • This position is based in Vaujours

    25% of time spent travelling, mainly in Europe during the week time.

    Possibility of remote up to 2 days a week

    Level of experience: Diploma + experience required

    Languages: Languages (written and spoken)

    Skills required :

  • Master's degree (or equivalent) in thermal/energetic process engineering
  • 3-5 years of professional experience
  • Valuable PhD
  • Fluent French and English (written and spoken)
  • Required Knowledge of programming and data analysis: Excel, Python programming, and VBA tools
  • Soft skills required:

  • Ability to work in a complex international organization
  • Good communication skills, especially with operation
  • Situational intelligence
  • Ability to work in a team and network.
  • Autonomy and initiative-taking

    You will work within the GPI (Gypsum Process Innovation) department, which is part of the Industrial Management and Process R&D Direction of the Gypsum Business. Our department's mission is to develop gypsum manufacturing processes in order to reduce time to market, improve plant performance, reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions, and optimize production costs on about a hundred sites worldwide.

    Technologie et Performance Industrielle (TIP) is a central international team of around 550 employees spread across several sites in France and abroad. Its mission is to define and implement the Group's energy and environmental roadmap, while providing technical support to the Group's plants, particularly in Construction businesses such as Gypsum, Insulation, Mortars and Glass. TIP is also responsible for R&D programmes for products and processes in the Construction businesses, managing strategic investments and allocating capacity between countries.

    The GPI (Gypsum Process Innovation) department is tasked with developing gypsum manufacturing processes with the aim of reducing time-to-market, improving plant performance, cutting energy consumption and CO2 emissions, and optimising production costs at around a hundred sites worldwide.
