Purpose
With offices in Paris, Miami and London, HBS specialises in the media production, distribution and archiving of sports tournaments. HBS has delivered many of the largest, highest-profile sports events in the world and continues to expand the catalogue of events we deliver.
We are looking for a Technical Program Manager to work closely with the Digital Technology management team to deliver Production workflows for non-live content. You’ll be responsible for defining, contracting and delivering production technology solutions across a wide range of events and sports.
You will play a key role in Digital team, and will need to have strong relationship skills, being expected to work with clients, the federations, HBS operational teams and suppliers to ensure complex technical functionalities are delivered in time for the tournaments. You’ll need to be excellent at tackling difficult problems, working with ambiguity while keeping your head and motivating others to help deliver the highest quality solutions.
Main Activities / Responsibilities
Drive implementation and delivery of key Host Broadcast (HB) Workflow solutions for Media Server and Non Live content delivery workflows.
Work closely with technical project managers to integrate Media Server workflow with Production workflows and Digital delivery workflows.
Lead a diverse team of technical staff and work with suppliers to coordinate, prioritise and deliver to the requirements of the Federations and HBS operational teams.
Clarify, prioritize and drive project commitments as well as establish and maintain clear chains of accountability
Articulate goals, desired outcomes, risks/issues and mitigation plan clearly
Support and enhance the services offered to the clients with thoughtful and measurable impact
Drive innovation to achieve the most efficient and cost-effective solutions to event delivery.
Position Relevant Skills (Education / Work Experience / IT)
5+ Years of Program, Project, or Product Management experience
Experience in key Production workflow technologies, with a focus on the following: Production Asset Management and content delivery for fast turnaround workflowsWorkflow orchestration solutionsTranscode and content conversion solutionsFile delivery workflows, including cloud based solutions.
Strong understanding of processes and frameworks needed to drive successful execution of complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
Proven ability to meet deadlines and drive results while juggling many priorities under tight timeframes and ability to cope with short-notice requirements and changes.
Comfort with ambiguity but also willing to dive deep into the technical details to ensure the delivery of a successful event
Experience working at a TV Network, Broadcaster, or Service Provider specialising in relevant technical deliverables.
Experience building and evaluating system-level technical design related to broadcast and cloud-native workflows.
Experience with managing RFPs, contracts and legal documents
Experience with managing budgets and forecasting
Fluent in both spoken and written English
