Position Summary

The System Reliability Engineer II role is responsible for the implementation and support of audio-visual systems onsite at F5 Tower and virtually throughout our global facilities. F5 Tower is a cutting-edge modern high-rise located in downtown Seattle with 200+ AV/IT systems. These systems include Zoom Rooms, video walls, digital signage, and large multi-purpose rooms with sophisticated AV signal routing, control systems, and digital signal processing. In this role, you will spend 60% of your time responding to production support and end user support, and 40% on planned work through agile delivery. This is an onsite role and does not support the ability to work remotely.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Bring the SRE approach for Availability, Reliability, Scalability, Disaster Recovery, Problem/Incident Management, and Performance of production services.
  • Evaluate, select and integrate 3rd party products in the support of new or existing services.
  • Provide technical leadership on large/complex systems and platform projects.
  • Build tooling to support the automation, management, and reliability of applicable systems.
  • Work as part of a team to continuously evaluate, troubleshoot, and improve existing systems.
  • Lead the system lifecycle from design and implementation, to turn-down and decommissioning.
  • Write documentation for peers and partners supporting applicable systems.
  • Lead communications efforts regarding both system issues/activities as well as blameless post-mortems with all partners.
  • Be part of the on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support.
  • Responsible for upholding F5’s Business Code of Ethics and for promptly reporting violations of the Code or other company policies.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Experience supporting a large scale of meeting rooms/AV systems. Experience Zoom Rooms, Crestron Control, Biamp DSP’s, Digital Signage.
  • Experience managing and deploying Mac OS and Windows upgrades/updates.
  • Experience working with and supporting Executive Leadership.
  • Experience supporting the technology needs for large events is a benefit.
  • Experience with phone systems (Zoom Phone), and O365 (Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive) is a benefit.
  • The ability to read construction and architectural blueprints is beneficial to this role.
  • Experience with basic network troubleshooting is required.
  • Strong ability to effectively multitask and prioritize work, balancing daily support responsibilities with multiple project/product driven activities.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Strong ability to work with customers and business partners such as Customer Service and Product Management to turn business requirements into technical implementation.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team to deliver features on agreed upon timelines.
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or related field and 3+ years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 2 years in an enterprise-level system engineering or reliability engineering role
  • Strong base knowledge of operating systems, networking basics, and security best-practices.
  • Working knowledge of Agile delivery and DevOps principles
  • Familiarity with IT governance methodologies (ITIL, COBIT, MOF, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of security standard methodologies
  • Technical certification(s) desired
