Site Engineer
Job Description
We're seeking a dynamic and qualified Site Engineer for our hyperscale site PAR1 located at Les Ulis (91).
As a Site Engineer (Data Centre Operations), you will support the Site Manager and the wider local Ops on site team to achieve and maintain an operationally safe and legally compliant data centre.
You will be accountable to ensure optimum performance of all technical equipment, by overseeing a comprehensive planned preventative maintenance programme which objective is to have fully available infrastructure to honour customer’s contracts.
You will support the Site Manager by helping, supporting, working with, and in some cases leading the onsite technical teams to ensure all employees, contractors and visitors adhere to Colt data centre services operational procedures.
Typical tasks and responsibilities will include:
• Lead and coordinate a team of problem engineers to investigate problems, implement solutions and take preventative measures
• Identify and resolve emerging and recurring problems, picking up feeds from numerous sources across the organisation
• Perform root cause analysis to minimise the adverse impact of incidents, minimising down-time and broader organisational risk
• Develop and implement permanent solutions to known problems, addressing root causes and preventing the risk of recurrence
• Work closely with major incident and change managers to stop incidents such as regular service outages recurring, ensuring the successful implementation of corrective and preventative actions
• Create and maintain documentation outlining problem management activities such as root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions
• Design and measure KPIs to monitor the success and impact of problem management processes
• Regularly communicate progress updates on problem management activities with both internal stakeholders and external clients
• Support knowledge management by sharing known problem resolutions, best practices and corrective and preventative measures
