Senior ServiceNow Developer - Customer Support

The Sr. ServiceNow Developer will contribute to the Medidata Customer Support Team providing development support to our customers in the life sciences industry. The Sr. ServiceNow Developer will primarily be responsible for the optimization of our ServiceNow platform. They will design, develop, test, implement new software enhancements to evolve our platform. The Sr. ServiceNow Developer will be experienced with ServiceNow implementations of ITSM and ITOM and will have practical experience with the implications of sustaining those processes. The Sr. ServiceNow Developer will be part of the Customer Support project team focused on delivering successful customer outcomes on the ServiceNow platform.

Responsibility Overview:Include, but not limited to:

  • Implement ServiceNow platform capabilities specifically the ITSM and ITOM modules including creating and updating form configurations, coding workflow administration, reporting, data imports, custom scripting and third-party software integrations.
  • Code development skillset within a high customizable work environment within ServiceNow.
  • Peer review, meeting with stakeholders, gathering requirements, attending SCRUM meetings and team guidance through training and testing.
  • Work with the customer support team to ensure the configuration of ServiceNow meets their overall requirements including drafting technically focused user stories, acceptance criteria, testing strategy, and knowledge transfer.
  • Identify potential "problem" areas within customer ServiceNow environments and provide advice on problem resolution.
  • Keeps up to date with industry trends and new ServiceNow offerings to enhance the usability of the ServiceNow Platform.
  • The Sr. ServiceNow Developer will complete all accreditations and stay current with certifications that are offered and required from ServiceNow,
  • Maintain industry leading knowledge to understand all aspects of Software life-cycle – from licensing to purchasing to deployment to decommissioning.
  • Learn and follow department standards to ensure all projects are conducted professionally, ethically, and in a manner consistent with quality standards. all work within agreed timescales and KPI's.
  • Assist Medidata Customer Support and cross-functional teams in managing project timelines and customer expectations.
  • See themselves as part of the greater whole in meeting or exceeding business objectives on a regular basis, as well as assistance in driving key initiatives.
  • Stay up to date on new ServiceNow product offerings, take on-going training and certification and acDeliver new areas of functionality
  • Create unit tests and step definitions for test automation where appropriateNinja-like data querying abilities in SQL(MySQL) and/or NOSQL(MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis, etc)

Qualifications:

  • Candidates will hold a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 8 years holding a position configuring and customizing ServiceNow projects.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience with common web technologies and networking ( XML, HTML, AJAX, CSS, HTTP, TCP/IP, etc.)
  • Experience implementing, configuring, and customizing ServiceNow including experience with common web technologies and networking ( XML, HTML, AJAX, CSS, HTTP, TCP/IP, etc.).
  • Detailed knowledge of ITIL methodologies, JavaScript and web software design principals and working knowledge and experience of IT Service Management processes (Incident, Problem, Change, Release, Knowledge, Service Catalog).
  • Detailed knowledge of relational databases, Directory service integration experience (Active Directory, LDAP, etc.), and knowledge of Single Sign-on using various authentication methods (token, SAML , SAML
  • Strong entrepreneurial spirit; a desire and willingness to "do whatever it takes

  • Additional experience within the IT or Software Asset Management field ServiceNow: Versions Berlin through Tokyo Languages: Javascript, Angular, Jquery, .Net , C#, VB, X++, PHP, DataTables, Perl, Java, Jelly, CSS3 and HTML.Database: Microsoft SQL Server 2000/2005/2008/2012/2012 and Microsoft Access Applications: 2003/2005/2008/2013; SourceSafe ; Team Foundation Server; Crystal Reports , , XI; NUNIT; Microsoft Dynamics Ax ; Eclipse Kepler/Indigo; CVS; SOAPUI; Padre Methodologies: Agile, SDLC, Waterfall

Certifications Required

  • The ideal candidate will hold the following accreditations; ServiceNow System Administrator ServiceNow Fundamentals ServiceNow Implementation Methodology Fundamentals ServiceNow Platform Implementation ITSM all modules through to ITSM Professional CMDB and Vendor Portfolio Management ITOM module, focusing on Discovery and cloud management ServiceNow Implementation Specialist in two or more applications preferred
  • Additional experience within the IT or Software Asset Management field ServiceNow: Versions Berlin through Tokyo Languages: Javascript, Angular, Jquery, .Net , C#, VB, X++, PHP, DataTables, Perl, Java, Jelly, CSS3 and HTML.

As with all roles, Medidata sets ranges based on a number of factors including function, level, candidate expertise and experience, and geographic location.

Pay ranges for candidates in locations other than New Jersey, may differ based on the local market data in that region. The base salary pay range for this position is $114,750 to $147,301."

  • The salary range for positions that will be physically based in the NYC Metro Area is $114,750-147,301.
  • The salary range for positions that will be physically based in the California Bay Area is $121,500-141,150.
  • The salary range for positions that will be physically based in the Boston Metro Area is $113,250-156,045.
  • The salary range for positions that will be physically based in Texas or Ohio is $101,250-135,000.
  • The salary range for positions that will be physically based in all other locations within the United States is $102,750-153,530."

Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Medidata provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a commission on the terms of applicable plan documents, and many of Medidata's non-sales positions are eligible for annual bonuses. Medidata follows a hybrid office policy in which employees who live within 25 miles of a Medidata office are expected to work on site a certain number of days per week (with the specific in-office days to be designated by your team). On July 8, 2024, employees will be expected to work on site at least 2 days per week. This will increase to at least 3 days per week beginning January 2, 2025.
