Senior Financial & Planning Analyst - P&C Domain/Alternative Solutions

The department mandate is to anticipate – via planning & landing exercise - and analyse – via regular/ business as usual and ad’hoc requests - key performance indicators, for technical and non technical aspects, under several GAAPs. The EMEA FP&A department plays a key role in collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders within Finance Department (the main ones being Business and performance and other regional EMEA teams) and P&C and L&H Business units, to deliver support for key clients mainly being Central Business & Performance team, EMEA Local Chief finance officers, Macro Markets and EMEA CFO management.

Key duties and responsibilities

Alternative Solution deals are by nature (due to their structure) very complex and require specific knowledge to draw out the substance of what those contracts mean economically and how they should be reflected in SCOR ‘s financials.

As part of the EMEA FP&A team, you will have to :

  • Contribute to the analysis of all P&C Alternative Solutions (AS) referred to Finance to support key Business Unit strategic deals or projects and provide insights on financial impacts on French GAAP metrics, at legal entity level.
  • Work closely with Alternative Solution underwriting team and IFRS17 central team to ensure that material deals that need referral are identified and referred to Finance and local CFOs in a timely manner & to support the economic analysis of those deals.
  • Planning on P&C: Coordinate and review, or produce when not available EMEA legal entities operating plans (1-3 years, P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash-flows, Liquidity) under all relevant GAAPs (local GAAP/French GAAP and IFRS 17), for P&C business
  • Quarterly closing landing and analysis: In close coordination with business and performance, P&C business units and EMEA closing and reporting team:Prepare and coordinate information during the landing process for EMEA scope, in particular anticipate the impacts on EMEA legal entitiesFollow up and analyse variances to plan and to previous quarter/ annual actuals in order to explain key performance indicators to EMEA CFO, key local stakeholders (local boards, regulators, ...), business and performance teams and Business units
  • In the addition to supporting and contributing to the EMEA FP&A mandate, the employee is expected to actively: 

  • Establish strong relationships with P&C teams in link with performed analyses on AS deals
  • Develop strong collaboration with the wider EMEA Finance teams to support Legal entities/CFO
  • Establish strong working relationships with other Finance stakeholders 
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis, preferably in a reinsurance entity or consultant in the reinsurance area.
  • Strong knowledge of P&C insurance/reinsurance business and principles
  • Knowledge in planning, analytics and reporting
  • Strong knowledge in IFRS, local gaap standards and Solvency II environments
  • Knowledge and or practice of BI reports is a plus
  • Excellent English level
