The Integrated Business Planning (IBP) Senior Financial Planning Analyst will lead the finance team’s efforts across IBP for the Surgical Operating Unit. This person will lean into 4 critical areas of IBP including (1) Data, (2) Insights, (3) Process, and (4) Execution to improve the fidelity of data, standardize and democratize insights, drive best practices, and thought partner with BUs on execution. This position will collaborate cross-functionally to produce accurate and timely information to enhance forecast accuracy and enable data-based decisions.
A Day in the life:
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
1. Data:
·Subject matter expert for Anaplan and system IBP knowledge.Coach and grow team’s awareness and abilities in Anaplan as well as the DMC PowerBi.
·Develop and maintain mechanisms to track data changes cycle-over-cycle to understand movements in ASP, statistical demand volume, overrides, revenue / non-revenue, R&Os, etc.
·Regularly identify and partner cross-functionally to resolve data errors related to LBM, ASP, revenue / non-revenue split, and R&Os
·Lead the annual harmonized hierarchy process and maintain product hierarchy in Anaplan to ensure alignment with RPH and PCode systems across Surgical.
2. Insights:
·Prepares reports of findings and recommendations, compiles and consolidates financial plans and provides insights to management. Will include the use of both Anaplan and Power BI dashboards as well as ad hoc analytics, with the end-goal of developing insightful recommendations and solutions in a deliverable design for executive level presentations.
·Regularly develops insights on financial implications throughout the IBP cycle such as inventory, free cash flow, product allocations and gross margin.
·Serves as a COE for the Surgical OU to standardize IBP reporting by partnering closely with the BUs and regions on understand needs from Anaplan
·Analyzes Anaplan data for the Surgical OU to identify key trends across constrained revenue as well as the building blocks of the Anaplan forecast.
·Build a point of view and communicate it effectively to influence colleagues by supporting them, challenging them and providing a unique perspective to deliver value.
3. Process:
·Periodically attend the BU and Surgical IBP step meetings to influence best practices for people, process, and tools. This work will require close partnership with the BU IBP leads and will regularly need to influence up.
·Act as the liaison between the Surgical OU IBP efforts and the Corporate IBP teams to understand and communicate deadlines, communicate up and down system needs and enhancements, and refine and mature processes.
·Work collaboratively with regional teams to implement IBP best practices, standardize data reviews, and identify areas for improvement to drive better decision making and improve forecast accuracy.
4. Execution:
·Tailored business partnering with BUs and regions by serving as the first-line of audit, identifying acute topics needing attention and providing BUs and regions with tailored and specific data to enable root cause investigation with minimal additional digging needed in Anaplan on their part.
·Support Surgical’s four business units on various IBP and S&OE-related analytics, including demand consumption trending, inventory reduction opportunities, and other BU-specific needs requiring Surgical IBP partnership.
