Regional HR Director – Region Southwest

Join VELUX and seize the exciting opportunity to become the Regional HR Director in the global People & Organisation team based in France. This role is responsible for translating business strategy into concrete HR initiatives across the regional Sales and the global Marketing organization in our Southwest region, which comprises France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, and the Netherlands, and oversees a total of approximately 600 employees.

The role

If you decide to join our organization, you will be responsible for a balance between people and business whilst supporting leaders across functions in their execution of strategies and enabling teams to perform their best. You will oversee an international team of great professionals across the region and primarily operate in areas such as organizational design, leadership development, talent management, talent acquisition, capability development, and change management.

You will develop the business in close collaboration with the Senior Management ensuring the overall business direction. You will operate in a matrix structure reporting to the Vice President of HR Partnering for the Sales and Marketing organization in Denmark with a wide range of stakeholders, enabling you to have a high level of influence in your respective area and the global People & Organization team.

Key tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Membership of the Leadership Team in Region Southwest

  • Have the responsibility for strategic HR-related discussions and decision-making as a sparring partner to the senior management team

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of 4 HRBPs across the region

  • Be responsible for translating the global strategic approach to human resources and the execution of these strategies, ensuring an aligned HR plan with global and local priorities

  • Ensure capability development to match business needs, ensuring both long-term and short-term focus

  • Challenge leaders at a strategic level, ensuring proactive planning and including a data-driven HR approach

  • Be the local advocate for our global Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion program

  • Align HR strategy with the business agenda and trends, including external market perspectives

  • Define, facilitate, and influence change in an organization in transformation

  • Coordinate with other strategic partners, business areas and CoEs

  • Ensure compliance with local laws and best-in-practice framework for all markets

  • Develop and coach leaders in alignment with business strategy

  • Facilitate strategic workforce planning

  • Prepare reports for management about employee turnover; new hires; resignations; training and development, etc.

  • As you will be part of a global organization, you can expect to travel approximately 30 days annually – both nationally and internationally.

    Furthermore, we expect you to have:

  • Strategic mindset with proven business insight resulting in the ability to connect dots and build HR agenda with proactive thought leadership

  • Demonstrated experience in making sound strategic HR decisions & assessing executive leadership talent

  • Great leadership experience and capabilities, ideally managing an international team

  • Experience supporting commercial excellence and sales organizations preferably with a regional scope within a multinational company

  • A positive presence seen as influential & respected by leadership

  • Good ‘storytelling’ ability, crafts a clear and engaging message

  • Ability to navigate in changing environments, see through complexity, and strategically promote an inclusive, diverse workforce

  • Effective collaboration, project management, organizational, and change management skills

  • Experience with French employment law

  • Fluency in written and spoken English and French

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
