Project Sales Engineer – Metals Industry & Automation

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Project Sales Engineer to join our team. Based in Europe, you will be responsible for generating new machine project orders within the metals industry, focusing on mill builders (OEMs) and end user customers. Additionally, you will identify automation opportunities across Europe, including integrated lines, ASRS, robotics, and palletizers.

The primary objective of this role is to generate new machine orders by visiting customers, collaborating with internal design teams, preparing technical and commercial offers, and ensuring customer satisfaction. You will maintain a proactive approach to achieve sales targets while representing the company at trade shows and providing market feedback.

  • Visit customers to identify their new machine requirements in the metals industry and automation sector.
  • Collaborate with internal design teams to develop customized solutions, discussing mechanical and electrical engineering aspects including pneumatics, hydraulics, and control systems.
  • Prepare and present technical and commercial offers that demonstrate value-added equipment solutions tailored to customer needs.
  • Maintain and manage project pipeline on CRM, ensuring offers are financially viable and contract conditions are met.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, providing market feedback and promoting product range and new developments.
  • Provide timely reports and updates on project status and market trends to stakeholders.
  • A degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • English and French language skills are required, Dutch will be an advantage.
  • Experience in selling value-added equipment solutions to industry.
  • Mechanical and electrical engineering proficiency, including knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and control systems.
  • Ability to use Autocad and other engineering software.
  • Commercial and financial awareness, understanding typical commercial terms and conditions.
  • Proven track record of value-added sales approach, excellent communication skills, proactive attitude, and ability to work independently and in a team environment.
