As a Project Engineer, specialized for EV testbenches, you will be a part of a highly experienced, growing team and execute the definition, development, and delivery of custom integrated test systems for some of NI’s largest customers.

As a Project/Solution Engineer, specialized for EV testbenches, you will be a part of a highly experienced , growing team and execute the definition, development, and delivery of custom integrated test systems for some of NI’s largest customers. With a focus on electric vehicle test systems, you will work in project teams, responsible for customer specific adaptiation and perform on site activities like installation, commissioning, training and service to the customer. You will work closely to system architects and electrical designers in a team to partnership to our customers reaching their goals. The projects are located all over within EMEA mainly in Germany and France.
You will become a specialist of NI's portfolio of power test equipment as well as software/applications used to control them.
Performance Objectives and Job Responsibilities
Specify and evaluates customer relevant requirements of the entire test bench concept
Review of project related construction, installation and validation documents
Perform installation supervision and start-up when the solution is delivered to the customer
Commission and evaluate automation-, measurement- and interface cabinets, as well as hardware systems for testbench application
You will clearly document troubleshooting processes, technical findings, and customized solutions as lessons learned and re-use knowledge
Secure project execution process and perform reviews and validation
Prepares, finalize and review project specific documentation
Provide training and post sales support to customer on the delivered systems
You will partner with NI's sales channel and act as a primary technical interface to understand customer issues and assist the sales team on the technical aspects of the sales engagement process including qualification, discovery, demonstrations, and Proof-of-concepts
You will leverage your expertise in electronics operations, test, manufacturing, yield, quality and statistical analysis to: Assess the customer’s met and unmet needs. Work with supporting organizations to implement the solution and ensure it meets the customer's needs.
Requirements and Qualifications
The following skills and experience are required:
A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical engineering or related field or equivalent work experience
Experience in power electronics, electronics testing, manufacturing or test related areas is an advantage
Willingness and hands-on knowledge working in high voltage environments.
Understanding of V-model process as relevant norms and standards
Experience in a customer facing role in either applications or customer technical support is an advantage
Experience in reading and understanding wiring diagrams
Experience in software programming/scripts is desirable (PLC, LabView, C/C++)
Problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Solution oriented thinking as well as good communication- and teamwork skills
Good English skills (B2 Upper Intermediate), German and/or French skills are considered a plus for this role
Willingness and ability to travel internationally up to 60% of the time
Automotive industry test experience is desirable
