Context:
The mission of the New Development & Transformation Business Division is to innovate and develop technologies, products and digital solutions in the new areas in which Axens wishes to grow, in connection with the energy and ecological transition.
Within this Business Division, the Decarbonization & Consulting department's mission is to help clients to develop their projects that to increase their margins and transform towards a low carbon economy.
On that purpose this department
Facilitates and accelerates the emergence of projects in new areas.
Supports existing activities when the client requires a holistic approach including the integration of different technologies, or third-party technologies.
Provides studies and consulting services to operators at site level to help them carry out their projects.
The activity of the department is currently experiencing strong growth. This is why we are looking for a Project Engineer.
Missions:
Reporting to the head of the Consulting & Studies group of the Decarbonization & Consulting department, as a Project Engineer your main activities will consist of carrying out studies, coordinating the activities of third parties (internal and external) and drafting project deliverables.
Within the framework of the projects, you will work under the operational responsibility of the project manager. To meet this objective, you will work with the internal resources of Decarbonization & Consulting and with technologists and specialists from different Business Divisions (TTS, NDT, POP).
In this context, your activities will be the following:
Definition of refining, petrochemical or other process technologies (bio, plastic recycling, e-fuels, hydrogen, etc.) (new site or modernization of an existing site);
Participation in workshops to propose proper technical solutions (decarbonization, margin increase, adaptation of a site, etc.)
Realization of utility, emissions and effluents balances
Definition of offsite requirements, including storage and utility generation systems;
Development of decarbonization deliverables (CO2 balance, energy balance, decarbonization plan, etc.)
Optimization of heat exchanger networks using appropriate models (ex. Pinch)
Participation in field assignments under the supervision of a field leader, mainly in the context of energy efficiency audits;
Coordination with other Axens departments (technologists, process design, cost estimator, etc.), with specialists from the Decarbonization & Consulting department and with external subcontractors (Engineering Partners);
Simulation of the financial results of a project using the appropriate tools & models (eg CalDev);
Writing technical reports and presentations;
Participation in meetings with the client, presentation of its results;
Reporting of the deliverables state of progress to the project managers and to the head of the Consulting & Studies group;
If necessary, contribution to the drafting of technical proposals, as well as to the development of the study offer price sheet;
Participation in the development of the in-house tools and in the technological watch.
You are based in Rueil-Malmaison, your mission involves short-term trips abroad.
Knowledge and Level Required:
With a higher scientific education (Master's degree, engineering), you are a confirmed engineer with at least 3 years of experience in chemical engineering.
You have a good knowledge of downstream oil & gas, and / or new technologies associated with the energy transition of this sector.
You have basic or detailed engineering project execution experience.
You are knowledgeable in process simulation tools (Pro/II, Hysys, etc.).
Your level of English is absolutely fluent.
Having used heat exchanger network modeling tools (Pinch, AxTucio, etc.), knowing project financial calculation models (CalDev) and Knowledge of decarbonization topics are a plus.
