PRODUCT ENGINEER - PERCEPTION SYSTEM FOR AUTONOMOUS TRAIN (F/M/X)
Villeurbanne (69 - France)

Are you passionate about applying your knowledge in finding solutions that will contribute to the emergence of new transportation solutions with low carbon impact?
Join our team in the Innovation Center in Villeurbanne developping solutions on Autonomous Train. We are searching for a talented Software Developper for our Obstacle Detection System (ODS) program within a lean startup pathway and in collaboration with engineering, software & mobility experts in an international context.

YOUR MISSION

As an autonomous train product engineer, you join a multidisciplinary and motivated team that develops our Obstacle Detection system solution.. In this role you will have to imagine, define and architect remote sensing hardware and software components (video analysis, LiDAR, RADAR, etc.) in a real-time embedded environment with safety requirements. You will also have to interface this perception device with on-board train location and digital mapping components, in order to contextualize the objects detected by the various on-board sensors. You will have the opportunity to participate in on-site train tests to test and qualify future ODS components and subsystems (sensors, processing units, etc.) in situ.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Gather (with system architects) obstacle detection use cases, identify and detail requirements for each use case,
  • Apply the most appropriate technological strategies to resolve perception & localization challenges,
  • Identify, specify and develop the ecosystem of tools necessary to implement perception applications,
  • Select the most suitable tools and datasets to develop environment perception applications,
  • Ensure a technological benchmark to understand the value provided by each approach (make or buy), constrains, restriction, application context,
  • Design the technical solution for production-grade, including the optimization for efficient embedded system integration,
  • Participate in laboratory and on-site testing of a Proof of Concept on a real train,
  • Apply a strong testing and quality assurance practices, including cybersecurity.
