JOB SUMMARY

Contribute to the development of innovative processes, breakthrough, lab to pilot.

Choice of the industrial route for new products in order to reduce the time to market as well as Capex cost.

Support to optimize conventional processes using brand new methodologies as well as support around existing methodologies and subjects

Contribute to and implement technical strategies for new sustainable processes including design and acquisition of necessary pilot facility and equipment.

Contribute to open innovation.

JOB SCOPE

Work on projects dealing with Innovative Process Scale-up studies, related to post- processing: solid/liquid separation, drying, particle shaping...

The mission is to drive new product manufacturing via the development of innovative process routes; to demonstrate the scale-up feasibility from laboratory scale to semi-industrial scale (Pilot) with the realization of the design, mass and thermal balances assessment, implementation of safety standards, OPEX forecast at industrial scale, and follow-up of CAPEX.

He/She will work closely with the scientists, managers and modeling engineer of the Process Innovation team. He/she will have interactions with laboratory technicians in the framework of his/her projects but will not have direct management.

The engineer will be expected to work transversally within his/her Business Area and possibly with the others.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Main mission details:

Pilot-scale development regarding post-processing routes such as solid/liquid separation, drying, shaping particules, wet or dry processes.

Technical follow-up: support for the design of equipment, contact for external modeling companies, validation of scale-up robustness. He/She proposes and follows a timetable of setting, and leads or takes part in first trials, internally or externally at suppliers or subcontractors to validate the selected technologies.

Consolidation, diffusion, and collection of the know-how regarding the link process-product

Proposition and development of lab tests representative of industrial equipments

Propose equipment investments, write technical specifications, support it and set up them. Make sure of administrative and technical aspects in accordance with internal rules.

Conduct literature and IP landscape evaluations in support of assigned projects, Write Invention Disclosures/Reports, drafts IP and assists in prosecuting patent applications

In contact with academics, modeling companies, or suppliers within the framework of these missions

Possible involvement in collaborative activities

Get expertise in this activity and possibility of organizing local training, in French or in English.

Take part in congresses, conferences, shows in his activity field

Technology watch: carry out surveys regarding his activity field

PROFILE

3-5 years of experience minimum in development of new processes, or in a relevant adjacent field

Experience in project management

Master / Engineering degree / PhD in a relevant academic field: Materials science, process design, chemical engineering, process engineering, industrial developments.

Optional: ability to use design and/or process softwares such as Solidworks, Aspen, ...
