Piping System Work Pack Engineer

The MEH Alliance on Hinkley Point C, is seeking an experienced candidate to fill the new and challenging role of a PIping Systems Work Pack Engineer on site at Bridgewater, Somerset.

Accountabilites:

  • Prepare a fully detailed description of the work required to be carried out from a given scope of work and specifications provided by customer and internal documents that are available for systems comprising pumps, motors, piping, pipe supports, valves, auxiliary units, etc.Construction work packs to include all site activities that need to be considered during installation, inspection, site testing and any specialists vendors works etc.Prepare method statements, risk assessments, and other supporting documentation associated with the pressure testing of piping systems.Report issues/concerns with upcoming tasks when they arise to the Work Pack Lead EngineerWork with the client to ensure a Right First-Time rate of 80% and aboveTo support the use of SWITCH, a programme to digitise and integrate key Engineering, Procurement, MEH Plant Construction & Commissioning (EPCC) processes across the entire plant lifecycle ensuring End-to-end Construction Management, Configuration and Change Management and Commissioning is managed effectively.Review construction work pack documents.Revise documents to ensure they are current.

  • Key Deliverables:

  • Research, outline, write, and edit new and existing content, working closely with various teams to understand project requirements.
  • Independently gather information from subject matter experts to develop, organise, and write detailed work packs
  • Lead and foster a positive Nuclear Safety Culture.
  • Minimum qualifications/experience:

  • HNC/HND in relevant technical field.
  • 2-4 years’ industry experience as an effective technical writer within a major infrastructure project-based environment.
  • Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex topics.
  • Previous experience writing documentation and procedural materials for multiple audiences.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Experience of working with engineering to improve the user experience (design and user interface), to help refine content and to create visuals and diagrams for technical support content.
  • IT literacy that includes extensive experience of using MS Office suite of programmes and Navisworks.
  • Relevant Professional Accreditation (PM, Construction, Engineering)
  • Can achieve Security Clearance (BPSS or Higher)
  • CCNSG Safety Passport
  • IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH
  • Proven track record in nuclear power preferred
  • Experience working on major construction projects 
  • Experienced in delivering and operating at an Engineer or Senior Engineer level, including experience working within Joint Ventures
