Mechanical Section Engineer- Torness

Job description

Altrad Babcock are currently looking to recruit a mechanical section engineer.

The role of the Section Engineer is to plan, provide engineering control and supervise production resources, ensuring compliance with project and company systems for a defined section of the works.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure work is delivered defect/snag free
  • Carry out instrumental checks in accordance with the agreed guidelines and schedule

  • Complete records of quality audits in accordance with agreed procedures and timescales i.e. at the end of works
  • Give feedback to the Site Agent regarding areas where corrective action needs to be taken with the appropriate level of urgency, of the risks associated with non-conformance during inspections
  • Engineering control

  • Understand and interpret the drawings and specifications
  • Provide engineering expertise and support to the project team
  • Ensure accurate implementation of all engineering controls
  • Produce accurate 'as built' records of the works
  • Produce Inspection and Test Plans for all elements of the works and supervises the delivery of the plan
  • Measure and report compliance with systems and required standards
  • Produce risk assessments and method statements for safe execution of the works
  • Qualifications/Experience

  • CPCS A61 Blue Card holder
  • ECITB's Moving Loads.
  • IOSH Managing Safely
  • Trained to NVQ 5
