Work environment
You will join a recently created Tractebel entity with very ambitious goals and exceptional projects. Created to support New Build projects localised in the UK, the entity’s mission is to promote Tractebel as a key player of the nuclear business in the UK.
The Consortium SICOS (composed of Tractebel, Egis and Setec) is in charge of the design and detailing of the reinforced concrete structures of the Nuclear Island of Hinkley Point C (HPC) Nuclear Power Plant, currently one of the world’s largest construction projects.
HPC is set to be the benchmark for future construction of similar projects in the UK. This is a great way to be exposed to the latest technology and digital construction methods with 3D BIM rebar modelling on such a large industrial project.

Job profile
As a PTLS Mechanical Engineer you will ensure the technical direction and coordination between all the stakeholders involved in the PTLS design and construction (the designers, the client and the contractors):
You manage the structural integrity assessment activity of PTLS for new build nuclear power plants.
You deal with the requests raised by the contractors during the nuclear plant construction (i.e., requests for information, field change requests and non-conformance reports) with the support of the back-office if necessary.
You prepare the technical response document to the requests, ensuring the respect of quality and delays.
You assist the client in meetings and technical discussions.
You conduct the technical and commercial follow-up of the back-offices and act as a SPOC between the client and the back-office.
You check and validate all the PTLS deliverables (calculation reports, drawings) produced by the back-office.
You ensure the coordination with other disciplines (civils, layout, equipment, etc.).
You report to the PTLS team leader.
You perform possible temporary missions in France and/or Belgium or assignments to our client’s integrated team.
Skills:
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:
Education: A mechanical engineering degree (MSc/ MEng) or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; Achieved or working towards Chartership (CEng).
Experience: At least 3 years of experience in structural analysis and design of mechanical components, preferably within metallic structures in the nuclear industry.
You are familiar with international codes and standards (Eurocodes, RCC-M, ASME).
You are experienced in general purpose finite element and structural design software (such as ANSYS, ABAQUS, SYSTUS...) for static or dynamic loading, linear or non-linear analysis.
You have a sound knowledge of steel structures and connection design (welds), material behaviour, finite elements analysis and general mechanical design.
You are able to understand and interpret calculation reports and mechanical design drawings.
You have notions of reinforced concrete behaviour/design.
You are proficient in drafting technical documents.
You are proficient in English language. Knowledge of French is a plus.
