A Day in The Life.

Our National MMA Tech PMO is seeking an IT Business Analyst to support the PMO project intake and governance flows. In this role you will support discovery of waterfall, agile and hybrid projects through engagement with cross functional technical and operations teams. Through collaboration with project stakeholders, you will define the project attributes, business benefits, objectives, scope, applicable business processes, and high-level business requirements to assist our Tech Governance Council in determining project portfolio prioritization and resource planning. As a PMO team member you will foster positive impact to project delivery through exemplary business analyst practice. You will also be a key contributor to the National MMA Tech Knowledge Base through technical and IT eco-system architecture documentation. You will provide relevant feedback as we continuously improve our Business Analyst processes and PMO artifacts. 

We will count on you to identify, verify, and document functional and technical requirements using Requirements Management methodology and PMO process tools. Your role will include conducting & facilitating acceptance tests for solutions with the user community, including developing of UAT test scenario and test scripts. This individual will develop, deliver, and evaluate training & supplemental materials. Analyzing the business domains, building trust with Operations team members and strong communication with stakeholders are key to this role.

In the Business Analyst Capacity, you will

• Gather and analyze data in support of business cases, proposed projects, and systems requirements, utilizing various tools such as Wireframes, Design Templates, BRDs, FRDs, process maps, workflow diagrams, data mapping spreadsheets, etc., to ensure clarity and alignment with stakeholders.
• Lead collaborative sessions to translate business strategies and objectives into business requirements while driving standardization across different business solutions. 
• Lead requirement activities, structuring product backlogs into epics, features, user stories, and tasks to ensure the delivery of optimal business value.
• Identify requirements, problems, opportunities, and solutions, and then engage throughout the change lifecycle to ensure successful delivery and adoption.

We’d love to meet you if your professional track record includes these required skills:

• Ability to elicit, articulate and document process modeling, business requirements, description of business context using scenarios and user stories.
• Proven experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems, or products.
• Strong foundational knowledge of Agile Methodology in application, as well as Product Development and the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Demonstrated experience in working on a wide range of technical projects in a Business Analyst role.
• Demonstrated ability to facilitate large groups across multiple disciplines.
• 5 to 8 years’ experience of analyzing business problems, designing successful solutions, and supporting complex initiatives.
• Demonstrable experience of working and thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with rapidly emerging requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

These additional qualifications are a plus, but not required to apply:

• Practical knowledge in importing data for use in report software, spreadsheets, graphs, and flow charts.
• Proven experience in database hardware, software standards, as well as data retrieval methodologies, integrations, and client-server applications.
• Proven track record of successfully fulfilling the role of a Business Analyst within an insurance industry environment.
• Agile applications and tools such as Azure Dev Ops, Jira, Confluence.
• Must have strong Business Process Analysis, written, presentation and communication skills.
• Stakeholder management and a proven ability to gain consensus and sign off.
