DELMIA R&D – Software Engineer for Master Planning and Scheduling

YOUR ROLE:

We are looking for a Software Engineer with strong functional skills in our DELMIA R&D Operations Planning & Optimization department to create world-class standard applications that solve the planning and scheduling puzzles our customers encounter every day. Where we are in a transition to bring our well-known DELMIA Quintiq solutions to Dassault Systèmes 3DEXPERIENCE platform.

This is a full-time, permanent role based in the DELMIA R&D Lab in `s-Hertogenbosch the Netherlands. We expect you to work inside this office for at least 3 days a week.

Our department consists of several software development teams, each with their own area of focus and with a high degree of ownership. You will become part of the team that is dedicated to the development of our Master Planning and Scheduling applications. Here you would work on Master Production Scheduling puzzles that serve the green steel industry as well as new customers on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, providing end-to-end use cases for order acceptance, adherence to S&OP, detect and solve bottlenecks and disruptions early on, as well as input for Detailed Scheduling.

From day-to-day, your goal is to develop, test, define and improve our planning applications as well as the daily planning process it supports. You would collaborate closely with our developers in Kuala Lumpur, as well as our algorithm experts in ‘s-Hertogenbosch to push for a user-friendly optimizer. You are a full member of our agile SCRUM team to deliver solutions with more value for our existing and future customers. On top, you have the freedom to work on your personal development in terms of soft skills and knowledge, as well as contributing to our department as a whole.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and implement new solutions and analyse and improve existing solutions for the Master Production Scheduling domain.
  • Spar with other Software Engineers, about the define, implementation, testing, and debugging of our solutions.
  • Collaborate with our Operation Research Scientists in designing functional solutions that incorporate world-class optimization.
  • Research and define alternative solutions that set the standard for our complete portfolio of planning solutions.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above, and at least 5 years of relevant experience
  • Strong analytical skills, and knowing how translate complex subjects to easy and logical solutions
  • Experience with Object-Oriented programming (ideally Java, as well as Javascript / Typescript)
  • Relevant background in Supply Chain Planning, Master Production Scheduling or Detailed Scheduling
  • Experience with agile software development and testing
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Communicative, enthusiastic, and flexible personality who can get work done.
