In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting FutureNow Centers, where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.

**Your Role and Responsibilities**

As an Application Consultant specializing in Mainframe Modernization, you will utilize your applied knowledge of a wide range of concepts and technologies associated with Mainframe and Mainframe Modernization to drive business outcomes. You will leverage your technical expertise to lead and mentor teams in implementing mainframe modernization strategies and roadmaps.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

* **Implement Mainframe Modernization Strategies**: Apply hands-on expertise to technically lead and mentor teams in implementing in-place mainframe modernization and migrating mainframe applications to z-cloud.

* **Support Cloud Migration**: Provide mainframe perspective support for migrations to other cloud platforms, ensuring seamless transitions and optimal performance.

* **Lead Technical Teams**: Mentor and guide teams in implementing mainframe modernization roadmaps, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing to achieve project goals.

* **Deliver Technical Solutions**: Utilize expertise in mainframe modernization to design and deliver solutions that meet business requirements and drive results.

**Required Education**

* Bachelor's Degree

**Required Technical and Professional Expertise**

* You are proficient in COBOL development.

* You are familiar with SQL and DB2.

* **Mainframe Modernization Expertise**: Experience with a wide range of concepts and technologies associated with Mainframe and Mainframe Modernization, including in-place modernization and migration to z-cloud.

* **Technical Leadership**: Experience leading and mentoring a team to implement strategy and roadmap for mainframe modernization efforts, ensuring successful project delivery.

* **Cloud Migration Knowledge**: Experience supporting migration of mainframe applications to other cloud platforms, providing mainframe perspective and expertise.

* **Modernization Roadmap Development**: Experience designing and developing comprehensive modernization roadmaps, aligning with business objectives and stakeholder expectations.

* **Strategy Implementation**: Experience executing and implementing modernization strategies, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations and optimal results.

**Preferred Technical and Professional Experience**

* **Mainframe Migration Expertise**: Exposure to migrating mainframe applications to z-cloud, with the ability to support migrations to other cloud platforms from a mainframe perspective.

* **Technical Team Leadership**: Experience working with teams to implement mainframe modernization strategies and roadmaps, with the ability to technically lead and mentor team members.

* **Cloud Platform Knowledge**: Applied knowledge of mainframe technologies, including the ability to support cloud migration efforts and ensure seamless transitions and optimal performance.
