YOUR FUTURE JOB

Within the Research Department, your mission is centered on the development and implementation of state-of-the-art ML/DL algorithms for audio applications like music information retrieval, audio processing, audio source separation, audio and music generation, speech recognition etc. You will be involved in all the steps of the research projects, in collaboration with members of the Research, Product and Development departments:

• Work with the Product team to identify real-world problems that ML/DL technologies can solve.
• Train and evaluate machine learning models.
  
• Conduct research on novel approaches.
  
• Gather, create and cleanup datasets.
• Partner with engineers and developers to integrate research results into practical real-world algorithms for cloud and/or on-device environments.
  
• Collaborate with software engineers to ensure seamless integration in final products.
• Optimise the existing algorithms in terms of precision, robustness, speed and costs.
  
• Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in audio, ML and DL research: bibliography, tests, simulations, evaluations, benchmarks etc.
  
• Work on the team tools and infrastructure with the rest of the team.

ABOUT YOU

You are a proficient ML/DL Research Engineer passionate about audio and music technologies. Always eager to tackle challenging tasks, you are continuously on the lookout for learning opportunities and excel in environments that value collaboration, ongoing improvement, and a touch of creativity. You focus on results and efficiency with autonomy and rigour in your work.

Target profile and expected skills:

• Education: You have a Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Audio ML/DL experience: You have strong experience with deep learning and machine learning techniques, particularly for audio applications.
• Research methodology: You have proven ability to conduct independent research, analyse data, and develop innovative solutions.
• Python programming: You have excellent programming skills in Python and you are familiar with machine learning libraries (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow).
• Additional knowledge: Experience with GCP or other cloud platform is a plus. Experience with CoreML or other on-device ML/DL framework is a plus.
• Drivenness: You have excellent problem-solving and analytical skills and mindset, you focus on the impact of your work on real-world applications.
• Rigour: You have a rigorous and detail-oriented approach, you ensure your work is of the highest quality, and you produce robust, scalable and maintainable code.
• Proactivity: You are proactive and take initiative in identifying and addressing potential issues or opportunities. You are curious and you constantly seek to learn more about the ecosystem and emerging technologies.
• Communication: You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and efficiently with both technical audiences (data scientists, software engineers, SREs etc) and non-technical audiences (product managers, designers etc).
• Languages: You are proficient in both French and English, daily communication is in French.
