MAIN MISSION

The mission of our Business Division(BD), Technology and Technical Support (T&TS), is to propose to our clientssustainable solutions, which are also efficient in terms of technologies /process, catalysts / adsorbents and services for the whole domains Axens isinvolved in (Oil & Biomass Hydroprocessing & conversion, Petrochemicalsproduction & purification, Gas and Water Treatment, CO2 capture). T&TS Business Division is responsible for the performanceachieved in Axens’ clients units and for maintaining the competitiveness of ouroffer in a very competitive market and during the energy transition period.Technologist position is at the crossroads of Axens core jobs, mixing technicalsupport to sales, partnership of the performance of our Clients and pilotingR&D actions to ensure our long-term competitiveness.

In the Low Carbon Solutions &Gas (LCSG) Group, we work on basic and detailed engineering projects for ourcustomers in the field of natural gas treatment, syngas purification, sulfurrecovery and carbon capture.

Based in Rueil Malmaison, assignedto the Acid Gas Technology team of the LCSG group, under the responsibility ofthe Product Line Manager, your field of intervention concerns natural gastreatment technologies, carbon capture on syngas stream (including BlueHydrogen production) and sulfur recovery technologies. Your mission is todevelop technical responses to calls for tenders for technologies, to providesupport for R&D, Technical assistance, sales and marketing actions. Youwill be art of the team ensure the knowledge and expertise on your field.

These missions are carried out incollaboration with the Sales Managers of the Commercial Division, as well aswith IFP Energies Nouvelles and other Axens entities: Legal Department, Process& Technical Services groups, Marketing, Business Development and TechnologyDevelopment & Innovation.

MAIN ACTIVITIES

  • Development of technical proposals to answer requests to bids for: Process Design Packages (PDP) for new or revamped units in the fields of Gas Sweetening for natural gas treatment, CO2 Capture for syngas purification (including the production of blue hydrogen) and Sulfur Recovery. You will be in charge of the definition of performances, operating conditions and technical guarantees. You will perform the preliminary sizing of equipment, process Flow Diagrams (PFD) and estimation of capital investment and operating costs.
  • Maintain regular technical relations with customers (performance analysis, technical site visits, troubleshooting, etc.)
  • Participate in the collection, synthesis and exploitation of knowledge related the processes for which you are responsible, including feedback from units in operation.
  • Provide technical support to sales managers when defending technical offers and promote the technologies for which you are responsible through marketing actions: development of marketing messages, publications, presentations at conferences and seminars
  • Acquire and develop knowledge of the different markets and project stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development of the LCSG Group offer by proposing improvements.
  • KNOWLEDGE AND REQUIREMENTS:

    Engineer in Chemistry, Chemical Engineer or General Engineer with goodknowledge in process and/or gas treatment, with an experience of 3 years minimum,either In basic engineering design of sulfur recoveryand gas sweetening units with amines, In operation of such industrial units, Inthe field of refining and natural gas processing.
    You are highly motivated towork on subjects such as CO2 Capture for syngas purification(including the production of blue hydrogen).
    An experience in R&D activities and skillsin design and equipments sizing using simulation software (ProII, Hysis,…) areappreciated.
    Being fluent in English or in French ismandatory.
    Finally, availability for short-durationoverseas travels is required.

    SKILLS:

    You are a good team player with stronglistening skills, in order to exchange with all Axens’ customers and with thevarious Axens’ entities.
    You have very good public relationsskills as well as strength of conviction, in particular when providing commercialsupport.
    You are synthetic, rigorous, concrete. Youhave excellent communication skills, both in writing and orally.
    Self-discipline, pragmatism and analyticalmind are required for the development of technical proposal and technicalassistance tasks.
