
INTERNSHIP - SIMULIA CFD User Success Engineer
Responsibilities
As an intern in the SIMULIA User Success organization you will apply your technical and communication skills to assist technical support engineers in one or more of the following areas; benchmark study, workflow development and software testing for SIMULIA products. Working with experienced engineers with broad industry knowledge, you will investigate and replicate technical issues, assist in defining resolutions and contribute to the creation of product presentations and demonstrations. Training will be provided on DS products such as PowerFLOW and other SIMULIA computational fluid dynamics (CFD) tools, and the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform. An overview of High Performance Computing (HPC) as well as introductory training on Linux Operating Systems will be provided. Interns will be exposed to real industry problems and be provided with mentoring by experienced engineers. You will be contributing in one or more of the following areas:
· Benchmark study: Run CFD simulation benchmarks to compare performance of different simulation parameters on an HPC system using a job scheduler.
· Workflow development: Develop workflow examples for specific industry applications and document detailed step-by-step instructions.
· Software testing: Validate new features or new simulation methodologies and write detailed technical reports. Assist support engineers to investigate and replicate support issues.
· Technical presentation: the intern is expected to work on a final project that demonstrates his/her proficiency with using one of our software tools and to give a presentation.
This is a paid internship with a flexible start and duration in the Dassault Systèmes Corp. offices located at 175 Wyman Street Waltham, MA 0245. You will be expected to follow a hybrid work model.

Qualifications
· Actively enrolled in a Master’s, or PhD program in mechanical engineering, aerodynamics engineering or similar at a college or university for the duration of the internship
· Experience with commercial CAD tools such as SolidWorks or CATIA
· Knowledge of CFD theory with either Navier-Stokes or Lattice-Boltzmann methods and experience with commercial CFD tools such as PowerFLOW, StarCCM+, ANSYS Fluent, OpenFOAM, etc.
· Experience with any scripting languages such as Shell or Python is beneficial
· Proficient in Microsoft Office products – Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
· Positive, self-motivated individual with high level of enthusiasm and willingness to learn and incorporate coaching and instructions into daily tasks and assignments
· Ability and willingness to self-teach new and advanced software functions
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Highly organized with attention to detail
· Takes direction and guidance from others, adopts and develops best practices and navigates around obstacles creatively
· Ability to work onsite at a DS location. Remote work will not be an option.
